Book Review - "The Quarry".

I find the quarry about life`s deep meanings of personality.

"The Quarry" is the final novel by Iain Banks, published posthumously in late June 2013. It revolves around an autistic youth, Kit, and his father, Guy, who is a misanthrope dying of cancer. The story is set in a decaying English estate where Guy and his friends gather for a last weekend. The novel is described as a "state-of-the-self book, a meaning-of-life book," reflecting Banks's own experiences with terminal cancer, which he incorporated into the novel. The book is known for its fine prose and its portrayal of the impact of cancer on the characters. It is a departure from Banks's earlier works, lacking the raw vigor of "The Wasp Factory" and the gothic elements of "The Crow Road".
