Book Review - "Personal"

Personal" is considered one of the stronger entries in the Jack Reacher series by many critics and fans. The novel follows Reacher as he gets embroiled in an international manhunt for a skilled sniper targeting high-profile individuals. The story begins with an attempted assassination of the French president in Paris, which quickly draws in Reacher as well as various intelligence agencies like the CIA, MI6, and Russian operatives.
Reacher teams up with a young CIA agent named Casey Nice as they chase leads across Europe, from Paris to London.
One of the novel's strengths is its fast-paced, globetrotting plot full of twists and turns as Reacher tries to identify the sniper's true target and motivations.
The action sequences, including a tense showdown at a London criminal's oversized home, are vividly depicted in Child's trademark thriller style.
Critics praised Child's ability to make the story personal for Reacher, with the sniper's actions and Reacher's involvement having deeper ties to his past than initially apparent.
The relationship between Reacher and Casey Nice also adds an intriguing dynamic.
While some felt the plot got convoluted at times, most reviews highlighted "Personal" as a solid, page-turning entry that reminds readers why the Jack Reacher series remains so popular Child's skill at classic thriller writing and creating gritty, violent scenarios is on full display
