Book Review - "Sleepy Head"
Sleepyhead by Mark Billingham, the main plot revolves around a serial killer who induces strokes in his victims, leaving them in a state of locked-in syndrome - conscious but completely paralyzed and unable to communicate. The killer's modus operandi is to drug women in their homes and then skillfully apply pressure to their arteries, causing a stroke that leaves them in this horrifying condition, suspended between life and death.
One of the victims, Alison Willetts, survives in this locked-in state and becomes a key character, able to see and hear everything but unable to move or speak.Detective Inspector Tom Thorne investigates these unusual murders and realizes the killer's intention is not to kill but to leave his victims incapacitated.
As the investigation progresses, Thorne becomes romantically involved with Dr. Anne Coburn, who is treating Alison.
Thorne eventually focuses his suspicion on anaesthetist Jeremy Bishop, a friend of Coburn's, as the prime suspect. The novel explores Thorne's troubled past through flashbacks to a previous case involving a serial killer named Francis Calvert.
Alison's inner thoughts and frustrations at her locked-in state provide a poignant perspective throughout the story.

Book Review "The Wasp Factory"
The Wasp Factory is a fantastic read I recommend it.
The Wasp Factory is considered a modern classic and an important work of Scottish literature. It was Banks' first published novel and was a critical and commercial success when it was released in 1984.The novel is praised for its dark humour, vivid imagination, and exploration of the troubled mind of the young protagonist Frank Cauldhame.
Reviewers have described it as a "deliciously dark tale" that is "suitably disturbing and entirely insular in its execution".Some readers found the novel's most shocking moments, such as the description of a child with maggots in their brain, to be more horrifying than the acts of violence committed by the narrator Frank.
However, other readers felt that Frank's breeziness in recounting his murders made the story less shocking, as we are "complicit with Frank" as the first-person narrator.Younger readers in particular have been drawn to the novel, with some high school students studying it as part of their Gothic fiction curriculum. This has required a rethinking of the novel's supposed "shockingness", as it is now considered more twisted and weird than outright horrifying by many readers. The Wasp Factory is praised as an accomplished and compelling work, though some reviewers felt the pacing was uneven at times, with overly detailed descriptions that slowed the narrative.
But the novel's exploration of themes like isolation, violence, and the damaged psyche of its young protagonist has made it a modern classic.

Book Review "Killing floor"
Killing Floor was one of Lee Child`s first books and is well written and I enjoyed it a lot.
The novel introduces the character of Jack Reacher, a former U.S. Army military policeman who is now a drifter. Reacher gets off a bus in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, and is immediately arrested for a murder he did not commit. At the police station, Reacher meets Detective Finlay and Officer Roscoe, who believe he is innocent. Reacher convinces them to call a phone number found on the victim, which leads them to a retired banker named Paul Hubble, who confesses to the murder.Reacher and Hubble are then transferred to a state prison, where Reacher thwarts an attempt on their lives by the Aryan Brotherhood. Reacher realizes the murder is part of a larger conspiracy involving corrupt cops, the mayor, and a counterfeiting ring.Reacher teams up with Finlay and Roscoe to investigate further. They discover the victim was actually Reacher's brother Joe, who was working for the Treasury Department investigating the counterfeiting operation. Reacher must uncover the full truth about the conspiracy and avenge his brother's death. The novel follows Reacher as he uses his investigative skills and physical prowess to take down the various members of the criminal organization behind the murders and counterfeiting scheme in the town of Margrave. It establishes Reacher as a tough, resourceful protagonist willing to take the law into his own hands.

Book Review "Blue Moon"
Blue moon is full of criminal gangs and competing for control.
The story follows Jack Reacher, the protagonist of the series, as he gets off a bus in an unnamed city and witnesses an elderly man named Aaron Shevick being mugged. Reacher intervenes and helps Shevick, learning that he is carrying a large sum of money to pay off a loan shark named Fisnik, who is associated with a mobster named Dino. Unbeknownst to Reacher and Shevick, Fisnik has already been murdered on Dino's orders after being framed as a police informant by Gregory, the boss of a rival Ukrainian mafia.
Reacher ends up posing as Shevick and meeting the Ukrainians who have taken over Fisnik's operation, eventually killing two of them. Reacher discovers that the Shevicks' adult daughter Meg is suffering from late-stage cancer, and they have been forced to take out loans from the mob to pay for her treatment after her former boss Maxim Trulenko embezzled from his company and disappeared. Reacher begins investigating Trulenko's whereabouts, which draws the attention of both the Ukrainian and Albanian mafias. He teams up with a waitress named Abigail "Abby" Gibson to try and protect the Shevicks. The novel culminates in a violent confrontation between the rival gangs, with Reacher ultimately killing the leaders of both the Ukrainian and Albanian mafias. He then tracks down Trulenko, who is running a fake news operation for the Russian government, and helps take him down as well.

Book Review "Die Trying"
This is a good thumping read of a novel, i love lee child novels so here I add another one of my favourites.
The story follows Jack Reacher, the protagonist of the series, who gets accidentally caught up in the kidnapping of an FBI agent named Holly Johnson. While Reacher is helping Holly with her dry cleaning in Chicago, they are both abducted at gunpoint and taken across the country by a group of kidnappers. Reacher soon learns that Holly is the daughter of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the goddaughter of the President. The kidnappers, who are part of a radical militia group, plan to use Holly as leverage to force her father to give in to their demands for secession from the United States. As Reacher and Holly are transported to the militia's remote mountain compound, Reacher tries to find opportunities to escape and get help, while also protecting Holly. At one point, he is forced to kill one of the kidnappers who tries to assault Holly. Once at the compound, Reacher is put on trial by the militia's leader, Beau Borken, for the murder of the kidnapper. Holly threatens to kill herself if Reacher is executed, forcing Borken to spare Reacher's life. Instead, Reacher is sentenced to five years of hard labor. Meanwhile, the FBI is searching for Holly and Reacher, with only a few trusted agents involved in the case. They eventually track the militia's location, but the President refuses to authorize an attack due to political concerns. Reacher discovers the militia's plan to launch missiles at major U.S. cities, and he works with one of the rogue FBI agents to try and stop them. The novel culminates in a dramatic confrontation at the militia's compound as Reacher and the FBI agent attempt to rescue Holly and prevent the attack.
